This California section supplements the Privacy Policy and applies solely to California consumers (excluding our personnel). The Table below describes how we process California consumers’ personal information (excluding our personnel), based on definitions laid out in the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA").

Some of the information we collect is classified as "sensitive personal information" under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). This category includes data that reveals your social security number, driver's license number, state identification card number, or passport number; your precise geolocation; your racial or ethnic origin; your sexual orientation or sexual life; your religious or philosophical beliefs; biometric information; as well as the content of your communications. We limit the use of sensitive personal information solely to the purposes of providing and enhancing our services to you, in addition to protecting our services and community. Furthermore, we do not utilize sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. As described in Section 5 of our Privacy Policy, we may publish ads about third-party advertisers’ products and services on our service and publish ads promoting our own service on third-party sites and apps. To help improve the relevance of these ads, we may allow third parties to collect information about you through cookies and similar technologies or disclose information to them. While we do not sell your information for money, under California law, these activities may constitute “sharing” or “sales” of personal information. You can opt-out of these activities as explained below. We do not knowingly “share” or “sell” information about individuals under 16, and you must be at least 21 years old to use our services.

How Long We Retain Your Information

We want the connections you make through our service to last forever, but we retain personal information only for as long as is necessary for legitimate business purposes and in compliance with applicable laws.

Should you decide to discontinue the use of our services, you may close your account, at which point your profile will no longer be visible to other users. Please note that accounts will be automatically closed following two years of inactivity

To safeguard the welfare and security of our users, we implement a safety retention window of three months after account closure or up to two years following an account ban. During this period, we retain data to facilitate investigations into unlawful or harmful behavior. This data retention during the safety window is justified by our legitimate interests and those of potential third-party victims.

We also maintain specific data to fulfill our legal data retention obligations. For instance, we preserve transaction data for a period of ten years to comply with tax and accounting regulations. Additionally, we retain credit card information for the duration of any transaction dispute and "traffic data" or logs for one year to meet legal retention requirements. Furthermore, we keep records of consents obtained from members for a period of five years to ensure compliance with relevant laws.

In addition, we hold certain data based on our legitimate interests, such as customer care records and ancillary data, along with approximate location information related to downloads or purchases. This data is retained for a duration of five years to enhance our safety initiatives and support customer care operations. We also maintain profile data for one year to prepare for potential litigation pursuits, which may involve the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims. Data essential for preventing access by banned users is retained as long as necessary to uphold the safety and vital interests of our members.

Lastly, we retain data based on our legitimate interest when there exists an outstanding or potential issue, claim, or dispute that necessitates data retention. This includes instances where we receive a valid legal subpoena or request that obligates us to preserve data to fulfill our legal responsibilities or when data is essential for legal proceedings.

Where legally permissible, we may retain and utilize data that does not individually identify you for purposes indicated in this Privacy Policy, including efforts to improve our services, develop new features, and ensure the security of Third-Party ad based and data sharing services.

In order to safeguard your privacy and maintain security, we implement measures to verify your identity prior to granting access to your personal information or fulfilling your requests. For instance, submitting a request while logged into your account may suffice for verification; however, there are instances where we may require additional proof of identity

In such cases, we may request documentation establishing that you have endowed the agent with valid power of attorney or other written consent to act on your behalf. Furthermore, we may undertake steps to verify your identity in this context.
